Default Oil

Anyone know where I can get 7 qts of oil for a good price? I'm changing the oil in the 335xi next Friday. Just wanted to get everyone's thoughts. Right now..Wally world has the best price for the Mobil 1 euro oil.

Thanks,
Jeff

That's what I figured. Didn't know if someone knows about an oil special or something. I will also be removing my OFHG as well while doing the oil change. Not looking forward to it.

buy good oil not cheap oil...esp for a turbocharged performance engine.

M1 from wally world is the best mix of both cheap and good. I've only ever seen people come close to matching their price when there was a super duper sale, it's not even worth the effort to shop around if that's the oil you are going to go with.

The meijer by my house is usually within $1 of Walmart for euro 0-40 M1. It's closer and my IQ doesn't take an instant hit by going to Walmart in Eastgate.

$5 a quart is not a bad price and I get mine at WalMart. Pretty much the ONLY reason I go into WalMart

Have you had your valves cleaned recently? Removing the OFHG requires taking the intake manifold out and so you might want to clean the valves at the same time.

I will check once I'm in there on Friday. The car only has 52k miles. I know they recommend to get it done every 20k-30k miles.

OFHG is easy, just takes time. I would also plan on degreasing that entire part of the engine block while you have it apart. THat way it's easier to see if it still leaks after you change it.

+1 I'd rather go to Meijer than Walmart any day.

I agree but Wally World is on my way home from downtown Cincy where I work. So I will be stopping there Thursday night after work to pick up the oil. Not a fun place to shop but you really can't beat the top notch people watching.

Ended up replacing the oil and the OFHG this past Saturday. Took about three hours to complete. The tricky part was all the damn wires and trying to get all of those out of the way so I could take off the intake manifold to get to that one torx bolt. Pretty dumb if you ask me. Anyways, no leaky oil for now **knock knock on wood**. It wasn't too bad of a process, just a little tedious. I took two pics but my hands got too dirty and didn't get the chance to take more.

Have a Merry Christmas everyone!
