You are correct on the hot shoes - Heard of Danny popp? Crazy mofo..

FYI - The NASA classing actually seems to make things more competitive (classed against equally performing cars, not equal model cars...)

You guys should get a caravan together - I know a few people at OSU who would tag along as well! (probably simply to watch... but hey! more people!)

Rich - I want to see this grass shot - you share yours, and I'll share mine (my video of me ending up in the grass!)

I'll definitely be trying to recruit people to come with me.

I don't know if there's actually a picture of Rich in the grass, but it definitely happened.

Hey, I was on dead tread wear 500 tires with a whopping 185mm of width!

Awesome video...I still don't quite understand how it happened, but I do like the blown out shock jiggle at the end

Well, as for schedules when all are going to attend... like I said earlier - I'll be posting up as soon as I find out. At this point, there is a SUPER tenative schedule set up for CinSCC (SCCA) that will change, and nothing for MVSCC (NASA) and WOR (SCCA)..

Rich and Tom... you guys need to do the same with all of your groups..

Wondering if it would be possible to add a separate section on the forum under events for AutoX or something - Keep these out of the rest of the events trying to keep front page spots?? Wings?

I know you don't - You should still try it, or find someone to let you take a spin in their car at one! It's pretty addicting...

Ok.. so I dug for my grass shot, and it ended up being way more lame than I remembered...

SO to substitute, I will include one of my best friend's grass experiences..

This is something like an '00 spec ford focus racecar... His car is usually faster than mine through corners, but slower on straightaways... imagine that.

Anyway, I have personally drivin this car and I must say this thing handles like it's on rails - this was a bit of a freak incident!

Something went wrong. Please make sure you added the video correctly. Click here to see how YouTube videos should be embedded. There could also be a technical issue that's not your fault. Click here to view the video on YouTube's site. If this link doesn't work, you did something wrong.

...just watch almost all the way the way through - pretty funny!

Sounds fun too!
All I'm sayin' is this - Autox = $25-$45... Track days are substantially more expensive.. (albeit substantially more seat time...)

I'd like to run a fun day a Nelson as well.

Auto-x is pretty cheap. I'd recommend riding along first time. It is like a legal form of crack!

Gordon, nice vid of the roll. I'm still not quite sure what caused him to roll over. Was the ground really soft to let the wheels bite in when they left the pavement?

bad motor mounts = money shift

they're easy to replace on the e36. i'm sure the S14 is no different

Isnt it alot cheaper than a drivingschool/track day at like Mid-OH but a more relaxed?

Yeah engines got enough give to it that it broke 3 sockets when the timing chain was done.

Nelson is $130 for their fun days. Nasa HPDE is $209 for 1 day or $360 for two at Mid-Ohio.

I don't know how many sessions you get per day at either venue. Typically for track days you get 5-6 20-30 minute sessions, but the Nasa HPDE's are intertwined with their race weekend.
