Question Unofficial Poll: SALT

I'm looking for general thoughts from everyone:

Do you store your car during the winter months to avoid corrosion and salt exposure?

Or do you keep it going and just wash frequently during the winter months?

STORE IT! You can wash it all you want. It still gets under the fender wells and in between metal areas. STORE IT. No question. Get a 1000 beater and blizzaks.

Now, I am taking my M5 out of storage this week so.. yeah.

Oh and.... I love the car. It looks great in the photo.

I haven't driven mine since early November (almost). I took it out for an evening on Jan 1 after we got a massive rain and the roads were clean for about an hour. Other than that, nothing. I know for a fact, as the 2nd owner of the vehicle and speaking with the previous owner (private sale) I was the first to drive it north of Georgia. I picked it up in Houston, TX and it was always registered in FL.

So it has zero salt exposure, which drove my question.

Looking for opinions.

I don't want my wheels to pit either. I have the stock wheels but no tools at my apartment, they are all at my parents in Granville.

Don't get me wrong, it's not Ferrari or high-end Porsche... We might treat them like it, but contrary to popular belief, it does snow in Germany...

Thanks. I am looking fwd to meeting everyone this spring, or any time I drive down south. I'm personally amazed at the Cincinnati following... I lived there for 5 years and didn't even hear a single meet. Must not have been looking hard enough...

I drive mine all winter. Except on snowy days when I drive my jeep. But that has more to do with the driving skills of other drivers

Out in the salt all the time. Just have to keep up with salt destruction under the car.

I daily my car year round, if its under 30, i don't bother with washing cuz the salt wont hurt it. The day its over 30 and every day after that I wash it...

It's helpful to have a free carwash at work too.

May I ask for some further explanation on why you feel this way?

My car has NEVER seen snow....
