Default What are you going to do to your BMW this winter?

Just a general question and some meaningless banter. I am sourcing up an m50 intake manifold and will probably do the vanos seals while i have part of the motor off. this is my plan anyway, i will have to work on my 85 yota once in a while and do the rear shocks on the wifes MDX.

I just threw on a new suspension about a week or two ago when it was a bit warmer out. I ended up going with an H&R Touring Cup Kit. Hopefully here in a few weeks I'm going to pickup some 17" ASA AR1's, but I won't be able to put them on until Spring (salt)

Already did everything I was gonna do. Which was a new timing chain, evo cam gear, water pump, oil pump, and replaced every seal and every hose.

I think in the near future... (whether it be cold or not) I'm going to do the Beisan vanos rebuild, as well as up my sounds system a bit..

Really hoping to sell a sub/box/amp thing from my old Toyota Tacoma, and hoping that'll finance the replacement of my dead stock head unit... and maybe a bit more..

I've also got the Beisan seals and rattle ring in hand, but don't have the time or place currently to do the work on this baby - I prefer to have a day or two fully devoted to doing the work, and then a week after to put the break-in miles on the new seals to work out the bugs in the system that could arise... That's the main thing that's scared me out of doing this just yet (with an impending road trip to Nashville, TN with the fiance).. Already rebuilt the top and bottom of this engine myself... what's one more time into the valve-train to tweak yet something else!? (PS... worth a set of new cams and a chip? OOOR just hold off till the money for a snail shows up a few years from now )

Anyone got a place near West Chester and some elbow grease they'd be willing to lend? (read heated garage with spare spot for 2 days? Could repay with beer etc!) My current 'hook-up' is in Vandalia (N. Dayton), an hour north of mi casa in 45069..

I'm going to probably wind up fixing the brake pads/rotors, souring another head unit, and calling it a day. I may get around to fixing paint chips and dents summer though.

painting my wheels. Everything else will have to wait until it's warmer. No way I'm staying out in the garage right now.

Don't you want warmth for the paint on the rims?

not yet but i have a full tank, and i doubt ill drive it for a couple months...

i thought about putting fuel stabilizer in the m3 when i put stabilizer in the model t back in November but didnt...

im weary about running old gas in the m3 since its supercharged and by the time march or apiril comes around it will be 5-6 months old

On my 328i I'll probably do a set of s52 cams and the vanos seals at the same time, I'm still not certain I want to do the obdI intake since I really enjoy my city driving torque.

They're being done by a shop which will have heat.

that's what Ive been kicking around too since 60% of my driving is city but then i figure it doesn't really wake up till about 3500+ so i can wait another 500 rpm. i can always sell the mani if i don't like it. i would love to ride in an m3 with the swap to see how it feels. also i'm already sharked and if i do the vanos seals and the asc delete at the same time i'm hoping the loss will not be that noticeable.

I still need to finish painting/install my M3 bumper/mirrors... and I need to pony up and drop the $400 for the GC coilover conversion kit so I can actually get low... and I need to refinish the LTWs/roll the fenders so they'll fit. So much to do!
