Default Brainstorming business opportunities

Hey guys, I'm trying to come up with some ideas for entrepreneurial opportunities within the automotive industry for a capstone class. Anything is fair game, so throw out any ideas you might have had over the years or something that you think should be out there now. I have a few ideas myself, but I know there are plenty more that have yet to be realized.

At this point in time I'm not worried about market size, scaling the business or even making money, so don't hesitate to share your wildest, most impossible thoughts. Have some fun with it.

TIA!

Design an ECU to run a 2 liter diesel engine that can trick EPA tests to get better gas mileage without using DEF

Corner the used M market and jack up the prices.

That sounds pretty dope! You mean for people who work/live to get back and forth during the day?

Mobile oil change business where someone comes to your house to change oil, rotate tires, etc.

Not a bad idea at all. I know that I'd pay for someone to wash mine as well...as long as they know what they're doing.

Mobile Strip Club?

You could also do Automotive investments and play the market.

I've been thinking more and more about buying something in the crazy Porsche market that wouldn't necessarily be for myself and rolling the dice for 12-18 months to see where it goes.

Some of them i thought had no end in sight are still going up like crazy. Actually if I was smart I'd cash out of the GT3 and take the profits to roll into the next one but I can't stand the thought of getting rid of it no matter how much I'd put in my pocket as a result.

I've definitely considered the dealership route. As a student at Miami, I thought it would be brilliant to sell and service higher-end cars closer to Oxford. A lot of students drive out of state to purchase cars and having a local resource could be a game changer. We'd also offer buyback deals on a lot of them similar to what Enthusiast does. Buyer signs a contract that gives us first dibs on the car. If you've met some of the students who purchase these cars...they leave a lot of money on the table when they leave the US after graduation.

I have always liked the idea of Garage Condo's and DIY Shops. The insurance is crazy expensive but a lot of times having a lift and the proper tools available is what keeps people from doing the work themselves.

Garage Condo's are basically high-end storage units based around a particular interest, whether it be boats, RV's, sports cars. There are some in Illinois that are car clubs, these guys have these storage units/condo's which are outfitted with a high-end garage/shop and has a little kitchen/living room area. They're basically a community of a bunch of like-minded enthusiasts. They will also have sponsored track days..etc.

I think I've heard of one out in Illinois, it's not very old and is super nice if I'm not mistaken. Do people just rent them for the weekend or a week at a time?

The only problems with these are the countless families nationwide that would become fatherless in the areas these pop up in

Sell canned wire smoke. That way once you let the smoke out of the wires you'll have more to put back in it

This was going to be along the lines of my suggestion as well -
There used to be a place out on colerain avenue in Cincinnati (I believe) - You could rent lift/non-lift shop time at different rates, and then there were adders for tools, welders, consumables, oxy/acetylene torch kits, etc. Could even offer use of things like tire and balance machines... alignment rack (though these start to get into more specific skill-sets required to use, and thus a much smaller target market audience)

That same shop could specialize in the goofy or more expensive tool rentals that people seem to want but some place like autozone wouldn't have - EG: welders for a weekend, air compressors and accessories, "mobile" lifts? (scissor style chassis lifts?)... etc. etc.

As a note, there is a place in Tri-county called "The Manufactory"... A GREAT shop space for "small" projects of almost any kind, but it's not set up for any long-term projects or vehicle-esque stuff...

Edit:
Lulz. Sorry to revive a thread that's almost a month old (Especially if it's no longer of any benefit)
