Mind sharing a few pics? I need 13 fixtures, so I'd like to one go through the buying/install process once!

On a less related note, how's the floor doing?

I'm going to start throwing R-30 insulation up in the attic this weekend, so we're going to frame the light locations and do a recess install (cleaner install IMO).

Floor is doing great. No issues so far.

How do you know you need 13 fixtures? With 7 Fixtures over 650 sq ft that's going to be around about 215 fc. Which is holy bright lol

Bright is good.

Total space is about 1000 sq ft, and I wasn't planning to use T5s...was planning to use LEDs once the cost comes down a bit more.

What are you doing for heat? I was thinking about a two-stage radiant tube: http://www.spaceray.com/industrial_i...cker/index.php

Ehh LEDs still aren't attractive. If you look at lumen/price you'll probably get a good idea of what you're spending. Performance of an LED tube is barely comparable to a T8.

I have a Reznor 45,000 btu/HR vented gas heater. I like it a lot more than a radiant tube heater. You'll need to size it a bit larger for you.

Why don't you like the tube heaters? Doesn't forced air blow dust around?

Thermal recovery, for one thing (Bring in an ice cold car or open the garage doors, you're going to be fighting to bring the space back up to temperature). You'll lose your space with tub heaters since it's all IR.

Also IR will heat the slab, cars, equipment but not the air. It'll feel like you're by a campfire.

I don't think the air blows any dust around, haven't seen an issue

Finished updates to my work space before the GT3 goes in there to come apart for maintenance mode again this winter.

Small space but I've figured out how to make it work. With 4 fixtures the place is adequately lit and for the most part I rarely need to use work lights under the car. You'll see in the far corner the single head tank top heater that I use which is more than adequate for the small space I'm working with.

Excuse the wiring mess on the lights. It's an apartment I can't make changes that are too permanent.
